AN EXCITING NEW KIND OF SCHOOL
Fullfledge Ecology School is being founded by a group of experienced teachers, professionals and parents, who have been researching and creating an innovative vision and curriculum for an all-through Ecology School, in Suffolk, for the last couple of years.
The school is envisaged as an evolving whole and eco-system that honours the diversity of all the individuals within it and responds to their changing needs accordingly.
The aim is to facilitate the development of each person – adult and child – in finding their true purpose and passion in life – thus creating a true learning community.
Creativity will be cherished and encouraged. Children will thrive with the joy of learning. We will create a healthy, warm, safe, nurturing environment where community is paramount, and where children’s interactions between lessons is just as important as what happens during lessons. This will be a place
where people feel that there is genuinely no better place to learn and to grow.
We will constantly evaluate our educational practices to ensure that we are creating the best solutions for our children which always reflect our innovative vision and approach. We want to draw from wise educational influences in order to be inspired to create our own unique school. Our students will develop a strong relationship to nature and be given the skills to tackle the environmental challenges of today and of the future. We will nurture enthusiasm and responsibility for sustainability of the planet.
A key tool in achieving our vision lies in inspiring engaging relationships throughout the school. We will offer diverse learning experiences for everyone: For children, a rich curriculum which encourages learning on different levels, by immersing them in practical and artistic activities as well as intellectual: For adults ongoing personal as well as professional development.
As inspiration for our educational approach we look to innovators such as Sir Ken Robinson, Rudolf Steiner, John Hardy, Satish Kumar, Mikhail Petrovich Shchetinin and others, with the aim of meeting the needs of children in the 21st Century and to offer diversity. Balance is a driving principle of everything we believe in, as is protecting the integrity of childhood and the right of every individual to discover who they are and what talent they have to share.
We need families who believe a new approach to education is within our grasp. It will require enormous amounts of resourcefulness, will and commitment from all involved – teachers, parents, children and administrators – but we believe that we can create a new kind of school like no other. If you want to be part of turning this vision into reality, then please join us via our website or facebook group. We are currently trying to realise our vision through the Free School process and are re-vamping our formal proposal to the DFE in line with the latest changes in the application process.
